At 8:38 a.m. on February 20th, the student body received an email from Reslife stating that the Sheehan POD would be closed for breakfast.
An email from the President’s Office confirmed that the reason for the closing was a pipe burst.
Students are encouraged to go to the Food Court in the Student Center until the situation is resolved. Meal swipes will be accepted at this location for access to a buffet-style selection of food.
Renae Lias Claffey, the Assistant to the President for Campus Communications, stated that the dining area has sustained water damage and crews are on-site checking the extent of the damage.
“Given that the pipe burst this morning,” said Claffey, “it was remarkable that Chartwells was able to transition breakfast on very short notice to the Student Center.”
Along with the Student Center Food Court, the other Chartwells locations on campus are also open and available for student use.
