The Lancers defeated the MIT Engineers (6-3) at the Kevin Lyons Baseball Diamond on Thursday.
Sophomore Adam Barry, who went 4-for-4, and senior David Ruggiero, who went 3-for-3, set the pace for the victorious Lancers. By the third inning, Worcester State already had a 2-0 lead.
With this win, the Lancers improved 16-11, unfortunately causing the Engineers to fall 14-8.
Worcester State men’s baseball will play a doubleheader against Framingham State this Saturday at 1 p.m.
Women’s lacrosse had an 8-2 lead by intermission during their game against the Fighting Scots from Gordon College.
The game went in overtime, and with 1:25 remaining, the Fighting Scots defeated the Lancers 13-12.
Worcester State women’s lacrosse will play against Fitchburg State at home at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Lancers and the Bison went head-to-head on Thursday. Lancers defeated their local rival 5-1 in the opener and 9-8 in the nightcap.
In the bottom of the first inning, Worcester State scored five times, with sophomore Courtney Salisbury, achieving the first score.
Worcester State women’s softball will be playing against Framingham State this Saturday at 12 p.m.
