Upon a bookshelf lie those bounded works;
a coating of black-leathered layers thin.
Yes, mesmerized these spines entranced the clerk.
With pages smoother than untainted skin.
The fairy tales of lovers long ago,
who valiantly fought through those trying times.
By conquering evil and living with woe,
twas difficult, but wondrous to sublime.
She quickly flipped among enchanting tales.
In royal dress imagined she herself.
Envisioning her daily life availed;
with countless days, and everlasting wealth.
Suddenly the fantasy is shattered,
and dreaming is returned to pages, tattered.
